LOEI, Feb 29 (TNA) – Related officials are still battling a forest fire at Phu Tok Mountain, a popular tourist destination in the Chiang Khan district of Loei province.
The fire around Phu Tok Mountain has continued for the fourth day Saturday while firefighters have to brave through dry weather and windy in order to contain the blaze.
Officials said the fire broke out near a place where tourists can view a sea of fog during sunrise and a telecommunication station of TOT Public Company Limited.
So far, about 40 per cent of forest land on Phu Tok Mountain have been burned while visibility there is very poor.
Besides affecting tourism at the popular mountain, the forest fire has caused tiny dust in the area. (TNA)
