BANGKOK, Feb 6 (TNA) – Fire destroyed about 10 houses in the Wat Makok Community in central Bangkok.
Initially, one person, escaping from a building was reportedly injured in the incident.
Firefighters took about one hour to put the blaze under control after the fire broke out at about 10 am. on Thursday.
Local residents managed to evacuate to nearby Phramongkutkhlao Hospital.
The narrow alley at the entrance to the community made it difficult for the operation to put out the fire and officials had to use the water from the Sam Sen canal to extinguish the fire.
Ten old wooden houses were destroyed.
District officials will conduct survey on the damage and will provide assistance to the victims. The cause of the fire is still unknown. (TNA)
