CHIANG MAI, Dec 20 (TNA) – Fifty restaurants in Chiang
Mai city have been listed in the third edition of the MICHELIN Guide Thailand.
The northern province of Chiang Mai is the latest addition
to MICHELIN Guide Thailand after Bangkok, Phuket, Phang-nga.
Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and the provincial
administration held an event to honour the 50 restaurants listed in the 2020
edition by the world’s oldest and most revered hotel-and-restaurant reviewer.
The TAT has said MICHELIN Guide showcases Thailand’s three
most vibrant regional culinary scenes.
This latest edition of the MICHELIN Guide in Thailand also reflects the
growth of gastronomic tourism in Thailand.
Chiang Mai offers diverse food and eateries, ranging from
high-end restaurants catering to the fine-dining crowd to small stalls serving
local Lanna-style dishes.
According to TAT, Chiang
Mai’s tourism revenue between January and October this year grew 0.91 percent
from the same period of last year, reaching over THB84.2 billion. (TNA)
