NONTHABURI, Dec 19 (TNA) – Pranangklao Hospital has opened a cannabis clinic, which operates every Mondays.
Advisor to the Minister of Public Health, Praphon Tangsrikiartkul said after opening the cannabis clinic that so far, 141 hospitals under supervision of the Public Health Ministry have operated cannabis clinics.
Those clinics have distributed cannabis-infused medicines, produced by the Government Pharmaceutical Organization, the Department of Thai Traditional and Alternative Medicine and the Chaophraya Abhaibhubejhr Hospital as an alternative treatment for qualified patients, who do not respond to conservative treatments.
All patients will be screened by doctors before they will be prescribe medicinal cannabis and evaluation will be conducted to follow up patients’ conditions after they take the cannabis-based medicines.
The cannabis clinic at Pranangklao Hospital has six specially-trained doctors, one dentist, four nurses and five pharmacists to treat patients suffering from several illnesses including epilepsy, muscle pain syndrome, vomiting from chemotherapy. (TNA)
