BANGKOK, Oct 28 (TNA) – A giant clock, displaying only the number “9″ was installed in tribute to HM the late King RamaIX at the Bang Sue central railway station, of which the construction is underway.
The giant clock, six metres in diameter was placed, 21 metre high from the ground on the glass wall at the station’s entrance.
The clock, built by US manufacturer Electric Time Company is one of the major symbols, designed for this new Bangkok rail transport hub.
The construction of the Bang Sue grand station is 80 per cent complete and will accommodate up to 300,000 passengers per day when it is opens in 2021.
Bang Sue Central Station will have three storeys for suburban and regional train services and a subterranean level will be a parking area for 1,700 vehicles.
It will serve as the main rail hub, connecting the capital and the country’s rail system network, including high speed train service in the future. (TNA)
