BANGKOK, Aug 23 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha confirmed his support for improved and integrated civil service among Southeast Asian nations.
Gen Prayut expressed his stance when he met a delegation of the civil service heads and secretary-general of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). The delegates called on him as they were attending the 3rd ASEAN Heads of Civil Service Retreat in Bangkok.
In the meeting, the prime minister praised concrete achievements of the ASEAN Cooperation on Civil Service Matter (ACCSM) that was expanding to ASEAN’s dialogue partners. He said that Thailand attached importance to the development of civil service as it was an important factor of national development and regional cooperation. Regarding the development, Gen Prayut mentioned the efficiency, effectiveness, transparency and accountability of civil service.
The ASEAN heads of civil service agreed with the prime minister to boost cooperation on civil service and develop mechanisms to facilitate the cooperation.
On the occasion, Gen Prayut congratulated the heads of civil service for their upcoming communique on the promotion of good governance and the improvement of civil service to cope with the digital era. (TNA)
