BANGKOK, July 26 (TNA) – The Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) plans to adopt Japan’s industrial waste management technology as a model for the development of the Eastern Economic Corridor (EEC) and the circular economy.
There is no technology in Thailand for industrial waste management and the country has to send industrial waste to Japan for proper management.
IEAT officials took a field trip to Hokkaido to visit Nomura Kohsan Co.,Ltd. which collects mercury-containing waste from all over the world for recycling with the state-of-the-art technology
The delegates also studied the Industrial Carbon Capture Storage (CSS) model at the Japan CSS Co., Ltd. It is the demonstration project, supported by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI)
The technology will be adopted to upgrade the industrial estates across the country to become the Eco Industrial Town by 2021 in line with the government’s policies to embrace the circular economy. (TNA)
