BANGKOK, July 18 (TNA) – Free trial run of the MRT Blue Line extension from Hua Lamphong to Lak Song will start on July 29 and run until September 28.
Media members today were allowed to test the new route extension from Sanamchai station, which runs under the Chao Phraya River to Tha Phra station.
MRTA governor Pakapong Sirikantaramas said that the opening of the service is ahead of the schedule to celebrate His Majesty the King’s birthday on July 28.
Free trial service will be opened for five stations from Wat Mangkorn station to Tha Phra station from 10 am. to 4 pm. everyday.
Passengers can take photos of the new stations, decorated to reflect the heritage of the areas such as the Sino-Portuguese design of China Town and the royal palace in the Rattanakosin Island, where the subway passes.
However, tripods and other photo equipment, which will obstruct other passengers are not allowed in the stations. (TNA)
