BANGKOK, Aug 9 (TNA) – The MRT Blue Line’s new section from Hua Lamphong station to Tha Phra station will extend service hours for rush hour commuters, starting next week.
After the Mass Rapid Transit Authority of Thailand (MRTA) and Bangkok Expressway and Metro Plc launched the trial run for the five new stations of the MRT Blue Line on July 29, the free trial service has gained so much popularity.
Passengers take photos of the new stations, decorated to reflect the heritage of the areas such as the Sino-Portuguese design of China Town and the royal palace in the Rattanakosin Island, where the subway passes.
After the opening, the system is now ready for extending service hours from 10 am. – 4 pm. to 7 am. – 9pm., starting on Aug 13.
The new route extension runs under the Chao Phraya River to Tha Phra station in Thonburi side. (TNA)
