BANGKOK, Feb 25 (TNA) – Bangkok officials gear up for
early voting which will take place one week before the March 24 general
election.
To ensure smooth balloting at district offices, Bangkok
Metropolitan Administration (BMA) held a workshop for city officials on voting
procedures and regulations on Monday.
Bangkok city clerk Silapasuay Raweesaengsoon said over 200
officials in charge of polling in all 50 Bangkok districts walked through the
preparation process of early voting.
Legal supervisors from the Election Commission (EC)
instructed the officials about every step of early voting, she said.
Over 900,000 voters have registered for early voting, which
is a record number. These voters wish to
cast their ballots outside their home district due to their absence from
registered constituencies.
Silapasuay acknowledged concerns over possible problems
arising from insufficient staff and limited capabilities of district offices.
