SAMUT PRAKAN, Feb 7 (TNA) – One person was killed
and four others were injured in an accident, involving a large fire extinguisher at a
parking building in the premises of the Airport Rail Link, Suvarnabhumi
Station.
The area has been cordoned off and the cause of the
incident is under investigation.
The Airport Rail Link later issued a statement, saying the
incident occurred at 1.20 pm. on Thursday when the contractor were changing a
large fire extinguisher cylinder (FM200) at the Airport Rail Link employees’
car park zone.
A cylinder valve was knocked loose during the
replacement. The compressed gas inside was released and the force propelled the
cylinder, hitting five workers. One was killed at the site while four others
were rushed to hospital. (TNA)
