BANGKOK, Jan 23 (TNA) – The Election Commission (EC) sets
Thailand’s election date for March 24, 2019.
The EC meeting finalized the date for the first general
election after the 2014 coup at its meeting today after His Majesty the King
issued a royal decree for the election earlier today.
A new government is expected to be in place by the middle of
the year.
The long-delayed poll will be held before the royal
ceremonies for the coronation of King Maha Vajiralongkorn, which will be held
