BANGKOK, Jan 7 (TNA) – Tropical storm Pabuk caused damaged to 92 health facilities under supervision of Public Health Ministry, said the ministry.
Sukhum Kanchanapimai, Permanent Secretary for Public Health said that the Department of Health Service Support reported 92 health facilities were affected by tropical storm Pabuk. Out of this number, 29 places were severely damaged, but all remain opened to provide health service.
Mostly, the buildings’ roofs, ceilings and window glass were destroyed by wind gusts. The state budget will be allocated to fix them, he said.
In post-disaster rehabilitation, the ministry has deployed four medical teams to look after mental health of victims and to improve sanitary conditions in order to prevent possible outbreaks in storm-ravaged areas.
Some areas remain flooded and officials must be also on alert for landslide. The emergency medical team is on standby there. (TNA)
