CHUMPHON, Oct 13 (TNA) – Officials have arrested three detainees who had escaped from a court in Chumphon province while they were being brought to their trial on Thursday.
Naras Savestanan, director-general of the Corrections Department, said the three were arrested at the foot of a hill in Moo 12 village of Tako sub-district in Thung Tako district in Chumphon at about 6.20am. He thanked all concerned officials for the successful hunt and he would go to Chumphon to question the three on Sunday.
The quick apprehension relieved concern of people, he said.
The escapees were identified as Thanathip Permlarp, Phichet Klin-ocha and Krisada Kaewnui. They were detained for alleged drug trafficking. Mr Krisada was also charged with illegal firearm possession.
They escaped from the Lang Suan court in Chumphon’s Lang Suan district at about 10.45am on Oct 11 by stealing a prison truck and driving it through the court’s gate. (TNA)
