BANGKOK, Oct 9 (TNA) — Israel and Thailand will work together in the information and communications technology (ICT), covering the exchange of relevant knowledge and experiences and investment.
As part of the cooperation, the Israeli Embassy to Thailand, in conjunction with its economic and trade department, organizes the “Israel ICT Roadshow 2018” in Bangkok on Monday, in which representatives of 10 Israeli leading ICT firms participate, including those from Communig Mobik CymbIoT and Ethernity Networks.
Speaking at the event, Israeli Ambassador to Thailand HE Mr Meir Shlomo acknowledged that the Thailand 4.0 Policy of the incumbent administration provides a good opportunity for Bangkok and Jerusalem to share their knowledge and experiences in the ICT sector to further enhance their potential in the area.
An advisor to the Israeli Embassy’s Department of Economic and Trade, Dagan Alony, stressed that Israel has seen Thailand as a potential partner in ICT projects, as there are a large number of users of smart phones in the Thai Kingdom, while the development of ICT and relevant innovations has become outstanding in the Israeli economy.
“At today’s event, the visiting representatives of the 10 Israeli leading ICT firms can also meet their counterparts from leading Thai producers and operators of smart phones to share their information on the ICT area”, the advisor suggested.
According to updated statistics, users of smart phones in Thailand account for up to 82 per cent of the country’s total population, most of whom access to the Internet more than 10 hours daily. (TNA)
