CHIANG MAI, July 11 (TNA) – A military pilot was killed
when an Aero L-39 Albatros training jet crashed in Chiang Mai’s Sarapi district Thursday evening.
Another pilot who managed to eject survived sustained
injuries after the training flight went wrong.
The jet belonged to the Wing 41 air force base in Chiang
Mai, said Air Marshal Pongsak Semachai, spokesman of the Royal Thai Air Force.
The aircraft was maneuvering at a low altitude when a loud
explosion occurred, witnesses said.
Air Marshal Pongsak the aircraft was malfunction forcing the
pilots to eject; one of them apparently failed to activate ejection seat.
There is no immediate report on the failure of the
Czechoslovakia-made aircraft that caused the crash.(TNA)
