SONGKHLA, June 14 (TNA) – Police and military officers rounded up 18 illegal migrant workers in the forest in Sadao district, Songkhla, Thailand.
Eighteen migrants, including 16 men and 2 women were arrested for illegally entering the kingdom. They used only rubber sheets and leaves to create a temporary shelter.
After the investigation, officials found that a Myanmar agent had led them to these migrant workers to hide in the forest four days ago, pending for transportation to Malaysia.
Officers detained all the workers for further interrogation to collect information that could be linked to a human trafficking network.
Police also scoured the targeted area to search for more migrant workers, possibly in hiding in the forest. (TNA)
