BANGKOK, May 2 (TNA) – The Transport Ministry and Siriraj Hospital signed an agreement for the construction of a Siriraj train station that will connect to Light Red Line and Orange Line and also include a new hospital building.
Transport Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith and Dr Prasit Watanapa, dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, signed the agreement that would lead to a station to link the Light Red Line from Taling Chan to Siriraj and the Orange Line from Bang Khunnont to Min Buri.
The new Siriraj station will serve commuters who travel between the eastern and western parts of Bangkok and patients of Siriraj Hospital.
The project will be built in the compound of the hospital. The first two floors of the station will serve train passengers and the rest 13 upper floors will provide medical services. The whole project will have a combined usage area of 46,000 square meters.
The design of the project was completed and its environmental impact assessment is underway. After the assessment is finished, the construction can begin right away. (TNA)
