BANGKOK, April 29 (TNA) – Thailand and China emphasize their intention to enhance bilateral cooperation in all dimensions as Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon welcomed Chen Yuan, the visiting president of the China Association for International Friendly Contact.
In the meeting at the Defence Ministry, Gen Prawit praised China’s rapid technological, economic, educational and health development and guaranteed Thailand’s readiness to boost bilateral cooperation, said Lt Gen Kongcheep Tantrawanit, spokesman of the Defence Ministry.
Gen Prawit also expressed gratitude towards China for its steady assistance for Thailand.
“Gen Prawit stressed that the Thai government and the Thai armed forces are ready to work with the private sector of China to boost relations and cooperation in all dimensions, especially those concerning people’s life that must be supported along with economic development. He also thanked China for its confidence in and support for Thai tourism. He ensures warm welcome and safety for Chinese tourists,” the Defence Ministry’s spokesman said.
Meanwhile, the CAIFC president thanked Thailand for supporting the Belt and Road Initiative of China and assured that he, as a representative of the private sector in China, was ready to support greater bilateral cooperation in all dimensions and narrow down the development gap between the two countries when it came to education, public health and life development. He promised to encourage more Chinese investors to take part in Thailand’s Eastern Economic Corridor project. (TNA)
