BANGKOK, April 25 (TNA) – Thai people flock to buy
commemorative pins for the coronation of His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn.
The government has made the 3.8-cm commemorative pins
available for sale as part the celebration for the King’s coronation on May
4. It has also invited people to wear
the pins on yellow outfits for four months to mark the special occasion.
On Thursday, people had crowded designated outlets early
morning to purchase the pins priced at Bt300 each. Senior officials observed the opening of sale
at major outlets such as retail stores in Chiang Mai and Phitsanulok cities.
The coronation commemorative pins made of copper-tin alloy
bear the King’s coronation emblem, a nine-tiered and a seven-tiered umbrella, a
strip of gold silk and a lion in white enamel with royal coronation 2019 text
in green.
Each pin is sold in a box of embossed coated paper, coated
with golden yellow and plastic that people can keep as memorabilia after the
ceremony.
It is available for sale in three rounds; each person can
purchase only two pins. Proceeds will be
presented to His Majesty the King for running royal charity projects.(TNA)
