BANGKOK, Feb 28 (TNA) – Thai Airways International is expected to be able to reroute flights to Europe for stranded passengers today after air travels have been affected by the chaos between Pakistan and India.
Transport Minister Arkhom Termpittayapaisith said the national flag carrier is negotiating to change its Europe flights to the two new routes. The first one is to pass through the airspace of Iran and Turkey and the other one will pass China and Himalaya mountain range.
Thai Airways International yesterday cancalled more than 10 flights to Europe after tensions between India and Pakistan had escalated and Pakistan closed its airspace.
More than 2,000 passengers have been stranded and provided with accommodation. Immigration police facilitated about 800 transit passengers to have their passports stamped to enter the country while waiting for rescheduled flights. (TNA)
