BANGKOK, Feb 27 (TNA) – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Grab Taxi are using information of tourists to support tourism promotion.
TAT governor Yuthasak Supasorn signed an agreement with Grab Taxi (Thailand) Co to develop a big data system in the project called “Tourism Smart Data, The Time is Now”.
Under the project, information from the government and the private sector will be used to work out tourism promotion plans and strategies.
Siripakorn Cheawsamoot, TAT deputy governor for digital affairs, research and development, said the project was aimed at encouraging tourists to pay more visits, reaching new groups of tourists, distributing tourists and tourism-related income to secondary tourist destinations and introduce new tourist destinations with promotions.
Information from both organizations would be used for the highest benefits of parties in the tourism sector, he said. (TNA)
