BANGKOK, Nov 13 (TNA) – Chinese bloggers are invited to take a tour in Thailand and to review their trips on social media in a campaign of the Tourism Authority of Thailand to lure Chinese tourists to the kingdom during the high season.
TAT Deputy Governor, Chattan Kunjara Na Ayudhya presided over a reception for Key Opinion Leader (KOL) media members and 22 famous Chinese bloggers, who are participating in the activity “Let’s Take a Break in Thailand”.
They will explore new experience in travelling on five tourism routes and will share their reviews and comments on social media such as Weibo, Tik Tok and WeChat.
The deputy governor said TAT offices in Beijing, Shanghai, Chengdu, Kunming and Guangzhou led Chinese media members to survey Thai tourism products and service.
The tour programmes include travelling to eastern provinces – Pattaya, Chanthaburi and Rayong, seeing see bryde’s whales in Phetchaburi and visiting the old town area in Phuket.
Top Chinese social media influencers will help promote Thai tourism throughout the high season and the Chinese New Year next year after the fatal Phuket boat accident in July caused a drop in Chinese tourist number.
The figures showed 8.3 million Chinese tourists visited Thailand from January to September, 2018.
It is expected that the number of Chinese tourists will rise by 5-7 percent to reach 10.5-10.7 million people by the end of this year. (TNA)
