BANGKOK, Feb 5 (TNA) – Chinese investors show growing interests
for business opportunities in Thailand, particularly in the Eastern Economic
Corridor (EEC), says a major industrial complex operator Amata Corporation.
Viboon Kromadit. Executive Director of Amata Corporation,
said Tuesday scores of Chinese delegations had explored investment
opportunities at industrial complexes in the EEC.
He attributed the trend to the trade disputes between China
and the US and high confidence in business environment as well as political
development.
After negotiations, many Chinese investors would soon
finalize their investment plans in the kingdom, he said.
“When the new
civilian government is installed and mega-projects such as the EEC are
continued as planned, it would be great for Thailand,” he said.
What investors would like to see is political stability,
Viboon added.
EEC developments in three eastern provinces include
construction of a high-speed rail link between Thailand’s major international
airports, Suvarnabhumi, Don Mueang and U-Tapao.
Major seaports, Laem Chabang, Map Ta Phut and Sattahip, are
being expanded. There are also plans for
the development of new economic zones focused on research and development, IT
and innovation under the EEC. (TNA)
