BANGKOK, Dec 27 (TNA) – Six Chinese beggars have been
caught in Bangkok after entering Thailand as tourists to solicit money on
pedestrian bridges and train stations.
After monitoring the group’s conducts, police have rounded
up the beggars, Lu Kuaineng, Qin Jianglin, Wang Laibo, Luo Xin, Qin Daoyu and
Ren Hecheng.
Pol Lt-General Surachet Hakpan said these Chinese nationals
were arrested separately at pedestrian bridges and a sky train station in busy
commercial quarters.
Coming to Thailand as tourists, they would go to shopping
areas as beggars, he said.
By night, they would exchange coins for banknotes at
convenience stores and split the money at a hotel they stayed in Suthisarn
area, Pol Lt-General Surachet said.
They have been charged with immigration law violation and
will be deported.
Thai authorities have arrested many Chinese beggars not only
in Bangkok but other provinces.(TNA)
