SUPHAN BURI, Dec 24 (TNA) – Elephants have been deployed to help the search operation for a two-year-old Myanmar boy, who has been missing in a sugarcane plantation in Suphan Buri since Dec 17.
Mahouts and four elephants from the Ayutthaya Elephant Palace and Royal Kraal were assigned to walk through the dense plantation, where sugarcane plants are more than two metres high and cannot be reached by rescuers.
More than 300 officials and volunteers have joined the search mission. Sniffer dogs have been used to trace the missing boys and ten divers also searched in four ponds
A royal kitchen was set up to cook food for rescues and volunteers at the site.
Apart from scouring the 80-acre sugarcane plantation, the police have not ruled out possible kidnapping. Authorities are checking CCTV footage in nearby areas. (TNA)
