BANGKOK, Dec 20 (TNA) — The government and the private sector through large-scaled companies agree to set up 500-million-baht InnoSpace (Thailand) Co to create startups and develop their international markets.
Industry Minister Uttama Savanayana announced the project, saying the company would be founded within the first quarter of next year and its shareholders would be Bangkok Bank, Thai Beverage, PTT, SCG, True Corporation, Charoen Pokphand Group and the National Science and Technology Development Agency. The parties will sign an agreement for the project implementation in January next year.
Mr Uttama said InnoSpace (Thailand) would help Thai startups in all targeted industries including bioindustry. Besides, educational institutions and foreign organizations from Hong Kong and Israel would help promote the products of participating startups in international markets.
The industry minister said InnoSpace (Thailand) would be founded at Vidyasirimedhi Institute of Science and Technology in the site of the Eastern Economic Corridor of Innovation project in Rayong province.
It will have five branches at Industry Transformation Centers (ITC) in Bangkok and Chiang Mai, the Science and Technology Park of Chiang Mai University in Chiang Mai, Thammasat University’s Pattaya campus and Kasetsart University’s Sri Racha campus. (TNA)
