BANGKOK, Nov 30 (TNA) – Zambia’s Vice President Inonge
Mutukwa Wina met Thailand’s Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan in Bangkok on
Friday, expressing thanks for the assistance especially in the agricultural
sector provided by the Thai side.
The Zambian Vice President also said Sufficiency Economy
Philosophy of the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand is applicable for
the African country’s battle against hunger.
Mrs Inonge Mutukwa Wina had attended the global conference on
Accelerating the End of Hunger and Malnutrition co-organized by the Food and
Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the International Food
Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) in Bangkok.
According to The Thai Defence Ministry Spokesman Lt General
Kongcheep Tantrawanich, the vice president of Zambia said His Majesty’s
philosophy was a model for her country’s attempt to end hunger and food
commodity production.
She thanked Thailand for providing assistance on in the
fields of farming, food processing and livestock to Zambia, Lt General
Kongcheep said.
Gen Prawit responded by expressing Thailand’s readiness to
support Zambia with technical education, public health, farming technologies.
Both sides agreed to
extend cooperation to promote trade and investment, Lt General Kongcheep
