BANGKOK, Nov 20 (TNA) – Thailand’s Industries Sentiment
Index (TISI) will peak to 77-month high in the next three months, propelled by
the upcoming election early next year, the Federation of Thai Industries (FTI)
says.
FTI president Supant Mongkolsuthree announced on Tuesday the
survey result for October that saw TISI climbing to 92.6, up from 91.5 in
September.
Thai industries received higher purchase orders in October
while oil prices dipped and government’s investment projects progressed, he
said.
The FTI then projected TISI for the next three months would
reach 106.7, the highest in 77 months, Supant said, attributing to the
windfalls from the polls planned for next year.
Surapong Paisitpatanapong, FTI’s auto industry spokesman,
meanwhile, said the group had revised car production target this year up to 2.1
million units.
Through October,
Thailand manufactured 1.8 million cars, a 9.75 percent increase and exported
952,000 units, he said. (TNA)
