BANGKOK, Nov 14 (TNA) — Thai and Malaysian police have signed bilateral agreements to boost their cooperation on law enforcement including suppression on the criminals who hold both Thai and Malaysian citizenships.
National police chief Pol Gen Chakthip Chaijinda and his Malaysian counterpart Tan Sri Mahamad Fuzi Harun led their police officers to attend their 25th meeting today.
The cooperation covers terrorism, narcotics, human trafficking, illegal arms trade, border security, transnational car theft, economic and computer crime, marine crime, piracy and personnel exchange.
Pol Gen Chakthip said Thai and Malaysian police’s cooperation was comprehensive and included law enforcement against the criminals who held both Thai and Malaysian citizenships.
The Malaysian police chief said the profiles of criminals with two nationalities would be compiled and arrested suspects would be allowed to choose the country where they would be punished. He also said that cooperation between Thai and Malaysian police would improve. (END)
