BANGKOK, April 14 (TNA) – Deputy Prime Minister and the Minister of Public Health Anutin Charnvirakul received a large lot of medical supplies from China that will be distributed to medical staff and health workers on the frontline in the battle against COVID-19.
Charge d’affaires of the Chinese Embassy Yang Xin on Monday handed over medical materials including 20,000 N95 respirators, 100,000 surgical masks and 2,500 Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) suits to the Thai public health minister.
Anutin said China’s support represents the friendship between the two countries. These supplies are the precious gifts on the Thai New Year as the country needs them to protect medical staff and health workers, doing their duties in the frontline.
Meanwhile, the public health minister praised health volunteer power, whose surveillance efforts help reduce the number of new Covid-19 infections in the country significantly.
More than one million village health volunteers have worked to conduct home visits, provide health education, supervise home quarantine and make report. They played very important roles in the public health system of the country, he said. (TNA)
