BANGKOK, April 10 (TNA) — Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha this afternoon discussed preparation for ASEAN’s special meetings on the control of the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) set for April 14.
Gen Prayut who is also the defence minister had a videoconference with relevant officials at Government House today. They prepared Thailand’s content and proposals for the efforts of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations to contain COVID-19.
Vietnam, as ASEAN chair, convened the special meetings on April 14 to coordinate international efforts to curb the disease. On that day, ASEAN member states will meet in the morning and in the afternoon they will discuss the issue with three dialogue partners namely China, Japan and South Korea. The sessions will be organized as video conferences.
The Thai cabinet postpones its weekly meeting that week to April 15 to pave the way for the special ASEAN meetings. (TNA)
