Lop Buri, Jan 15 (TNA) – The police on Wednesday raided several targeted locations in Lop Buri to search for the suspect, who killed three people and injured four others in a gold shop heist last week.
After the raids before dawn today, Lop Buri provincial police commander Nattapol Sukrasorn said the investigation made some progress to narrow down the list of suspects.
However, he refused to elaborate on the details whether the pre-dawn raid at 10 locations discovered more evidence, linking any suspect to the armed robbery.
The search operations were likely to trace the CZ SP-01 9mm. pistol, captured by the CCTV camera footage as the weapon of the lone robber. Thirteen persons in the province are registered to own this type of gun. Two of them are soldiers and the rest are civilians.
The police have examined records of the registered guns, comparing to the spent bullets and casings, collected at the crime scene.
The lone gunman, wearing a woolen balaclava shot security guards, gold shop staff, customers during the appalling robbery at Aurora gold shop in Robinson shopping mall in Lop Buri’s Muang district on Jan 9.
Three people were killed including a toddler, hit by a stray bullet in the head. He made off with gold necklaces worth about 500,000 baht before fleeing on a red-white Yamaha Fino motorcycle without a licence plate. (TNA)
