BANGKOK, Jan 11 (TNA) – Thailand’s National Children Day at the Government House is certainly filled with extravagant joy as the highlight is allowing kids to sit in the prime minister’s chair.
Several government agencies organise an annual National Children’s Day on the second Saturday of January.
Prime Minister Gen. Prayut Chan-ocha chaired the opening of the event at Government House where children are allowed to visit the Thai Koo Fah building and the Phakdi Bodin building in the premises.
A total of 20 youngsters from southern border provinces have a chance to meet the prime minister in his office before taking a tour to other buildings.
About 10 replica dinosaurs, supplied by the Mineral Resources Department have been installed at the lawn to greet young visitors.
Children can also participate in various activities such as science labs, a hand writing contest or try their hand at being news anchors at Government House’s press center.
Other activities are held to educate children to reduce global warming and saving money. The event runs until 3.00 pm. today. (TNA)
