NONTHABURI, Nov 1 (TNA) – Armies of local and foreign journalists settled at the press center in the IMPACT exhibition and convention complex to cover the 35th ASEAN Summit there on Nov 2-4.
The media center stood at the Challenger Hall 3 building. Today journalists did reports on ASEAN Senior Officials’ Meeting that discussed preparation for the ASEAN Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, the 20th ASEAN Political-Security Community Council Meeting and the 35th ASEAN Summit.
The delegation of Bahraini Foreign Minister Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa was the first foreign minister’s delegation to arrive at the summit venue. Bahrain and Thailand were set to attend a ceremony to sign the Treaty of Amity and Cooperation in Southeast Asia to expand trade and investment in Southeast Asia.
The 35th ASEAN Summit would be organized with the theme of “Green Meetings”. Therefore, a part of the media center was reserved to exhibit products made from recycled materials such as book shelves. There Amazon Café showed its biodegradable cups and straws as well as baristas who were people with hearing disabilities.
The summit venue was heavily guarded and visitors and their vehicles were thoroughly checked to guarantee security. (TNA)
