BANGKOK, Oct 4 (TNA) – Thailand will participate in the international solar-powered car race in Australia.
Siam Technology College’s Faculty of Engineering and Technology sent the STC-3 solar-powered car and a team of 14 as Thailand’s representatives to take part in the Bridgestone World Solar Challenge (BWSC), the world’s best-known solar-powered car race.
STC-3 will participate in the Cruiser Class, introduced in the 2015 event to promote the development of practical solar cars.
The race covers a challenging route of 3,022 km long from Darwin to Adelaide.
About 50 solar-powered cars will leave Darwin on 13 October with the event concluding in Adelaide on Sunday 20 October.
In the week leading up to October 13, participating teams will complete their static and dynamic scrutineering to ensure the cars meet all the 2019 Regulations.
The current 47 qualified teams for the race include teams from the world’s leading colleges and universities such as Massachusetts Institute of Technology, The University of Cambridge and the University of Michigan and Tokai University. (TNA)
