BANGKOK, Sept 28 (TNA) – In an effort to support the government in cushioning hardships of low-income earners, Energy conglomerate PTT Plc will reduce the price of cooking gas by 100 baht per cylinder to food vendors and shops for three months, starting this October, said Chansin Treenuchagron, Chief Executive Officer of PTT.
The PTT board on Friday gave the greenlight on the issue by offering 100-baht discount to 88,189 vendors and restaurant owners, holding the government welfare cards for buying cooking gas per month, said Mr. Chansin.
Cooking gas can be purchased from the gas selling shops, which have registered with the Comptroller General’s Department and payment must be made through the Electronic Data Capture of the state-run Krung Thai Bank.
The programme will cost PTT Pcl. 30 million baht.
The assistance is a pilot idea between the energy firm with the Energy and the Finance ministries, he added. (TNA)
