SIEM REAP, Aug 30 (TNA) — Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul attended the 14th ASEAN Health Ministers’ Meeting (AHMM) in Cambodia and signed an agreement on an ASEAN active aging center.
In the meeting in Siem Reap on Aug 29, Thailand presented its universal health care scheme, health promotion and disease prevention, he said.
On the occasion, Mr Anutin signed an agreement to set up the ASEAN Centre for Active Ageing and Innovation (ACAI) that will be opened in Bangkok during the 35th ASEAN Summit in November.
In the meeting Mr Anutin also led participants to do the “Chicken Dance” to freshen them up.
Besides, ASEAN health ministers endorsed the ASEAN Leaders’ Declaration on ASEAN Vaccine Security and Self-Reliance (ALD-AVSSR). The declaration was aimed at providing the ASEAN Community with access to quality health care. (TNA)
