TOKYO, Oct 10 (TNA) – Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and his Thai counterpart General Prayut Chan-ocha have endorsed the Tokyo Document 2018 (Tokyo Docs 2018), under which the future cooperation direction of Japan and member countries of the Greater Mekong Sub-region (GMS) is stated.
The Japanese and the Thai premiers endorsed the Tokyo Docs 2018 on Tuesday at the Mekong-Japan Investment Forum, organized by the Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) as part of this year’s Mekong-Japan Summit, the 10th of its kind being held in the Japanese capital during October 8-10.
Reports said that Japan will apply its cooperation master plan with member countries of the Ayeyawady-Chao Phraya-Mekong Economic Cooperation Strategy (ACMECS), comprising of Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, Thailand and Vietnam, to its cooperation direction with the GMS member countries, as the two documents comply and support with each other.
