TAK, March 4 (TNA) – The outpatient building of Maesot General Hospital was partly closed for four days for disinfection after a female COVID-19 patient concealed her travel information and caused the quarantine of 19 medical workers and transmission risks to 52 other people.
Dr Tawatchai Sethasupana, director of Maesot General Hospital, ordered the closure from the third floor to the seventh floor of the building from March 3 to 6.
The order responded to the case of a Thai woman who had concealed information about her travel and was later confirmed with COVID-19. That caused the quarantine of three doctors, 11 nurses and five assistant nurses of the hospital.
It was found out that the woman and another female migrant had illegally crossed the Thai-Myanmar border and went to two communities in Mae Sot district.
Medical workers found 52 at-risk people in the communities. The people were quarantined pending the results of their COVID-19 tests. (TNA)
