BANGKOK, Oct 8 (TNA) – People can start their hotel reservations for vacation today and check in from Oct 15 onwards under the third phase of the government’s We Travel Together tourism stimulation program, government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said.
The registration of participants in the program began on Sept 24. The program welcomes 2 million participants and lets them book hotel rooms from Oct 8 to Jan 23 next year. Participants can check in at their hotel from Oct 15 and the program was scheduled to last until Jan 31, 2022, Mr. Thanakorn said.
Under the We Travel Together program, the government pays 40% of room charges per room/night. The subsidy is limited at 3,000 baht per room/night and at 15 rooms/nights for each participant. The government also gives a food and tour e-voucher worth 600 baht per room per night. Participants pay the other 60% part of room charges.
The government also pays 40% of air fares for two people per hotel room but the subsidy is limited at 2,000 baht per air passenger. The limit is set at 3,000 baht per air passenger for flights to Phuket, Phangnga, Krabi, Surat Thani, Songkhla, Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai provinces. (TNA)
