BANGKOK, Aug 11 (TNA) – Thailand logged 21,038 new COVID-19 cases, for a total of 816,989 cases, and 207 new fatalities over the past 24 hours.
Announcing the figures, the Center for COVID-19 Situation Administration said the new cases comprised 20,865 cases among general people and 173 cases among prison inmates.
Over the past 24 hours, 22,012 patients recovered and were discharged from hospitals. Meanwhile, 210,042 patients were at hospitals to receive treatment.
Since COVID-19 outbreaks started in Thailand, there have been 816,989 cases and 6,795 fatalities.
Meanwhile, Koh Lan off Pattaya City was closed from Aug 11 to 24 as infections were confirmed on the island where about 6,000 people lived. Local health officials were conducting mass testing among the people to isolate infected ones. At-risk people were advised to do home quarantine. (TNA)
