BANGKOK. June 30 (TNA) – Thailand on Wednesday reported record 53 Covid-19 fatalities were reported and 4,786 new cases in the past 24 hours.
Taweesin Visanuyothin, spokesman of the Center for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) said the new cases comprised 4,659 cases in the general population and 127 among prison inmates. Thailand has recorded 259,301 Covid-19 cases since the beginning of the pandemic. It was ranked 73rd among 218 countries with the highest cumulative number of Covid-19 infections.
Currently, 49,799 patients were being treated for Covid-19 including 22,470 cases at hospitals and 27,329 cases at field hospitals. 1,911 cases were in critical condition and 556 cases on ventilators.
Bangkok had the most deaths at 35 and the most new cases at 1,826.
Dr. Taweesin said Bangkok was closely monitoring 108 clusters, of which 26 seemed under control. (TNA)
