BANGKOK, Dec 15 (TNA) – People in Bangkok would suffer from thick smog until Dec 17, said the minister of natural resources and environment.
Minister Varawut Silpa-archa said stagnant air would remain in the capital until Dec 17 and thus cause the accumulation of particulate matters 2.5 micrometers and less in diameter (PM2.5).
As many vehicles were emitting black smoke despite calls for vehicle maintenance, people in the capital and surrounding areas would have to face the air pollution in the next three days, he said.
Mr Varawut asked for people’s feedback on smog control measures, saying the government needed to know which measures received public cooperation or affected people.
“The measures that do not receive public cooperation will fail anyway,” the minister said. (TNA)
