NAKHON RATCHASIMA, Nov 9 (TNA) – Rangers of the Thap Lan National Park and geologists were surveying cliffs in Wang Nam Khieo district of the northeastern province as 25 sections of the cliffs crumbled.
The destruction of the soil cliffs followed days of rain at the Thap Lan National Park in Thai Samakkhi sub-district. The falling cliffs were threatening about 150 houses in two villages standing near some 10 locations of the natural destruction. Officials warned local people to prepare for evacuation if rain recurs.
Prawatsart Janthep, chief of the Thap Lan National Park, said the locations of the falling cliffs rose to 25 along the western and northwestern sides of Wong, Chan and Salakdai mountains. Most of the locations were about 400-500 meters from communities and they were separated by forests.
Park rangers asked geologists to survey the destruction areas and assess threats in case that rain recurs. (TNA)
