BANGKOK, Aug 14 (TNA) — Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha said his new cabinet would do its best to protect Thai citizens from the national economic crisis.
In his 16-minute-long address through TV Pool at 6pm on Thursday, Gen Prayut said his cabinet ministers would brainstorm ideas on stimulating the economy and helping people pass through the economic crisis. He asked people to refrain from any hatred and political division while his government was solving economic problems.
Gen Prayut said he gave five assignments to his ministers.
The first one is to help affected people, especially small and medium-sized enterprises. Secondly the government will implement projects that will solve economic problems in a sustainable manner because financial assistance will not last.
Thirdly the government will introduce incentives to convince businesses to keep their employees and enhance their competitiveness.
Fourthly the government will create jobs for new graduates and fifthly the it will ensure honesty, transparency and participation in the implementation of its projects.
Gen Prayut said he choose the best people for the present circumstance to join his cabinet and they would join forces with parties in the society to develop the nation. (TNA)
