BANGKOK, July 30 (TNA) – Thailand will invite foreign military attaches to its Cambodian border to observe civilian damage, following accusations that Cambodian forces violated a ceasefire agreement.
Deputy Defence Minister General Natthapol Nakpanich stated he ordered the Royal Thai Army to coordinate the visit for international military attaches, aiming to witness losses suffered by civilians due to the actions of Cambodian military personnel.
Thailand intends to formally protest Cambodia’s alleged ceasefire violation and will inform the international community. General Natthapol stressed the ceasefire agreement requires all units to halt operations and remain in place until the Thai-Cambodian General Border Committee (GBC) meeting.
He confirmed Thailand has extensively collected evidence of Cambodia’s alleged distortions, including aerial photographs. This evidence will be presented during any future inquiry.
General Natthapol concluded that the situation’s duration depends solely on Cambodia, as Thailand has no aggressive intentions. -819 (TNA)
