BANGKOK, July 11 (TNA) — Move Forward Party leader Pita Limjaroenrat, a leading choice for prime minister, answered all questions related to politics, saying he was confident to have enough support in Senate to become next PM as parliament sets to vote on July 13.
Move Forward Party leader prime ministerial candidate Pita, on Monday, appeared on a television program, giving candidly interview about a joint session of the parliament on July 13 to elect a prime minister that he was still confident that he would have enough support from members of the Senate to become Prime Minister.
He also said that during his meeting with supporters in Suphan Buri and supporters who gathered in front of the Central World shopping mall at the Ratchaprasong intersection over the weekend, many supporters wrote the messages to give him moral support all over his van.
He said his driver has already wiped the message out but he read all message and took the photos of them.
Meanwhile, Pita’s driver said that he was in the van when Pita’s supporters wrote the messages. He said he could not remember who wrote the messages as there were a lot of people at that time.
After that, he has cleaned the van with car cleansing chemical. However, the reporters later observed the van and found that some messages are still at the van and could read as “love dad.”
On Monday evening, Mr Pita was scheduled to meet the party’s supporters at a market in Pathum Thani.
Pol Lt Gen Archayon Kraithong, spokesman for the Royal Thai Police, said the police were ready to secure the safety on July 13 when the Parliament convenes a joint sitting to elect the next prime minister.
He said the Metropolitan Police Bureau would take care of the security plan, traffic management and the area management in the premise of the Parliament.
The Bureau would deploy the numbers of police, prepared equipment and vehicles for the policemen.
The Royal Thai Police which is responsible to enforce the Public Assembly Act and related laws has banned the gathering of people within a radius of 50 meters from the Parliament.
Pol Maj Gen Chokechai Ngarmwong, deputy commander of the Metropolitan Police Bureau who is responsible for the security affairs ordered the all nine branches of Metropolitan Police Division to specify the risk locations, areas to monitor, assembly points to prepare the response plan in case there is unexpected incidents, targeting the government offices and important venues where some people will show their symbolic expressions such as spraying graffiti, agitations and causing chaos.
