BANGKOK, Oct 10 (TNA) – The TASS Russian New Agency, an established news agency of Russia has sought bilateral cooperation with MCOT, especially news partnerships with the Thai News Agency.
Russian ambassador to Thailand Evgeny Tomikhin together with executives of TASS met MCOT acting president Sirote Ratanamahatana at the MCOT headquarters on Oct 7 to discuss Thai and Russian cooperation and news partnership with TNA.
This year is a special one as it marks the 125th anniversary of their diplomatic relations between Thailand and Russia.
Both news agencies have had their multilateral cooperation through their long-standing membership in the Organization of Asia-Pacific News Agencies (OANA). They discussed cooperation on news contents and their use on various platforms as well as technical and academic partnerships. TASS and MCOT will study and discuss the details later.
The meeting also considered relevant preparation for the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit that Thailand will host in November. MCOT will be the host broadcaster of the event for international media organizations.
TASS is a large-scale media organization of the Russian government and has branches and partners in regions worldwide. TASS is an active member and plays important roles including contribution in regional and global media networks including OANA. (TNA)
