BANGKOK, Aug 10 (TNA) – Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha will tomorrow (Aug 11) chair the first meeting of an ad hoc economic crisis committee to discuss responses to all global economic threats, according to the government spokesman.
Government spokesman Thanakorn Wangboonkongchana said Gen Prayut would chair the meeting where attendants would include deputy prime ministers, ministers, permanent secretaries of ministries, the secretary-general of the National Security Council and heads of key governmental organizations responsible for economic and security matters.
In the meeting, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs would present its assessment on the conflict between Russia and Ukraine and the National Economic and Social Development Council would share its views on major economic impacts, the spokesman said.
“This meeting was convened because of the Russia-Ukraine conflict and other geopolitical issues which have impacts on Thai and global economies. This meeting will consider the impacts and solutions in case that an economic crisis will follow,” Mr Thanakorn said. (TNA)
